No, "cheap insurance" it’s an oxymoron. Kinda like "military intelligence", "jumbo shrimp", "Microsoft Works", and "pretty ugly". Good luck, though in your pursuit of cheap health insurance. btw – you can thank gw and the republicans for this problem!

You are going to have to get health insurance in MA or you will end up paying penalties.
Because insurance is mandatory in MA now…every insurance company has come out with affordable plans.
Try http://www.mahealthconnector.org. They will have info about all of the different policies and help you chose the best one for you.
Also, if you earn less than $30,636.00/year you may be eligible for the Commonwealth Care program (where they pay a portion of your premium).
The lowest price that I found was $126.31/mo. (but that is with a high deductible and no Rx coverage).
    Good luck!

No. Health insurance costs, because people USE it a lot.

Try the Tufts plan, or Fallon, if you’re in those areas – they’re the cheapest in MA.

I helped another woman with a similar issue to yours and what she did was find the most affordable plan, yet with a high deductible, so overall she won’t actually use her insurance except if something major happens to come along as in hospitalization. Then she enrolled in a plan that allows her to save money anytime she goes to the doctor, dentist, prescriptions, etc. That’s the only option that would really work for her. She needed the insurance or face the penalties, yet she couldn’t afford the monthly premiums without the large deductible in place. So it was either pay full price, or save.

It works for her situation, and may for yours. Let me know if you would like more information or have any questions.

    Good Luck!

Why not talk to a health insurance broker? A broker works with several insurers and can find the best plan, rates and coverage for you. To find a broker, log on to a website like http://www.healthinsurancewiz.com and fill out a form requesting a free quote. Your information will be sent to a broker in your area who will contact you.

    Do what Sue said.

For residents of other states, without connectors, it would be smart to connect with a local agent and have them help you through this type of thing. You can do that by filling out a quote form at http://www.myinsurancequotes.net. A local agent will contact you and ge the process started.
